World Diabetes Day
On Thursday, 14th November 2024, we came together as a school to mark World Diabetes Day. This special day is observed every year to raise awareness about diabetes. We wanted to do something fun and meaningful to show support for those living with diabetes.
Dressing Up in Blue
One of the highlights of our celebration was our Blue Day. In support of World Diabetes Day's theme, students and staff wore blue clothing to raise awareness. Blue is the official colour of diabetes awareness, and seeing our school filled with so much blue was a wonderful way to show solidarity for the cause. It was heart-warming to see everyone come together to support this important day!
Learning about Diabetes
This week, we held assembly’s in class to teach the students more about diabetes. Our assembly aimed to explain what diabetes is, why it’s important to understand the condition, and how we can all help those living with it. It was great to see the students ask questions and get involved, showing curiosity and empathy.
Creative Activities in Class
Many children enjoyed colouring in pictures related to diabetes awareness. Year 4 conducted their own research on laptops about diabetes and made posters.
Reception made blue paper collage ribbons that they then put on display in the classroom windows.
We want to thank all our students, teachers, and staff for participating in such a meaningful way. It was a day of learning, fun, and showing kindness and understanding for others.
