Conker Class - Term 1
Year 1 have been learning about human and physical features of geography! We found out about what human and physical features were and worked as a whole class to find what features Sydney, Australia has. Then, we worked in groups to locate features in Wanborough and drew or wrote them down on post-it notes. They did a fantastic job!
Y1 Geography
In maths, we have started learning about the terms 'greater than', 'less than' and 'equal to' and the symbols that represent these. We pretended to be crocodiles eating the biggest number to understand how the symbols look and then worked in pairs to practice comparing numbers using the symbols.

In English, we have been learning the classic poem 'The Hippocrump' by James Reeves. We came up with actions to the words and rehearsed it over last week ready to perform in class!
Conker class have had a fantastic first couple of weeks in Year 1! Last week, the children entered the building to find our classroom had become an airport. They put their belongings through the x-ray machine before giving their passports and boarding passes to Mrs Bridge for checking. Then they made their way to their seats on the airplane and took off to Australia!
